My art projects for kids teach simple eye to hand co-ordination skills. Kids love choosing colours and using interesting tools.
Ever since my kids could hold a crayon they have been interested in arts and crafts, of course it helped that their Mom and Grandma are art craft crazy!
Is your child a creative?
I have two sons, with two very different personalities. When they were little boys I could give one a pencil and he would draw all day long, and the other one just had to have a ball and play in the dirt! They are both creative, but in different ways.
As young men today they are very talented at whatever they put their hand to, and I take pride in myself as a Mom letting them experiment with paint and different textures that were a vital part of their eye to hand co-ordination, among other skills as they developed.
Once you understand the type of needs your child has, it’s much easier to keep them occupied. I am always on the lookout for new creative activities for children, I have researched and found some really cute art projects for kids and I’m happy to share them with you.
Paint tulips with a fork…

Some of these will make a mess, and some will end up looking good enough to hang on the wall. When I found the idea for this easy tulip painting shown here using a kitchen fork and some paint, I just had to share it with you.
My great niece and nephew have done a demo painting for you here on video, there’s really not much to it, and they loved the idea of using a fork as well as a paint brush.

Boys paint smock made from a t-shirt
For the children who are just not willing to wear an art smock, in particular our young boys! find a few old t-shirts from a garage sale or the two dollar shop, it doesn’t matter if they get stained because they wear these shirts just on arts and crafts days.
I have made a video to show you how to make this t-shirt art smock. Its beginner friendly for the sewers in the house, and all you need is an over sized t-shirt. I made two here that are ideal for protecting your little ones clothes and putting things in the pockets at their next painting session, at home or school.
